HBL’s internships offer far more than a way to spend a semester. They offer a chance for you to contribute to the firm’s operations in a meaningful, significant way. We have a family relationship with all of our employees and each new employee is treated as a family member. While many internship positions offer little more than scanning, filing, and assembling, our internships give real, hands-on experience in what you really want to do. Do you want to be an auditing intern and go out in the field to help perform testing and observation with our auditors? Do you want to be introduced to tax preparation and the world of taxation by helping to prepare business and individual tax returns? HBL offers three different internship divisions, those being Accounting & Controllership, Auditing & Attestation, and Tax. Our internships are offered as opportunities arise during varying seasons, and we offer part-time flexibility. Typically our tax internships are offered January through April 15th and our audit internships are typically offered August through November.
Qualification requirements for the internships are as follows:
- At least a senior in your undergraduate career with a declared major as Accounting, Accountancy, or Taxation, or a graduate student in Accounting, Accountancy, or Taxation
- Plans for pursuing CPA licensure by either continuing on to attain a graduate degree to meet the minimum CPA qualifications (if not already currently enrolled) or by having an alternative plan to reach the minimum 150 credit hour CPA requirement
- Have an accounting GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
We are always accepting applications for internships!! If you wish to apply for an internship, please email a cover letter expressing your interest in an internship position and your résumé to careers@hblcpa.com
